PS3 Controller Emulator
PlayStation 3 (PS3) controller Emulator is a special software/ Emulator that is capable of emulating the well known third generation console PlayStation 3 on PC and MAC. So, by using this PlayStation 3 controller Emulator, you will be able to run and play almost any PlayStation 3 games on your PC and MAC.
PlayStation 3 (PS3) controller come packaged with a universal serial bus (USB) cable used to connect to the console that can also connect to any computer with USB-in port. Once connected, the PS3 controller can act as a game pad for use in video games or emulators. Some computer require installation of a software driver that sets up the controller, but once set up and connected, you can adjust your emulator’s setting to use the PS3 controller.
Instructions Setting Up the PS3 Controller
1. Connect your PS3 controller to your computer using the USB cable packaged with the controller (the same cable you use to connect to the PS3).
2. Open the preferred emulator and access the “performances” menu. Open the sub-menu, “Configure Controller,” “Joystick” or similar. Select the PS3 controller from the list of options. If the PS3 controller is not as option, skip to section 2 of Installing a Driver.
3. Push the PS button in the center of the controller when the emulator asks you to map the game pad keys. Then, configure the PS3 controller for your emulator by selecting which keys do what. For instance, if you’re playing Nintendo 64 games, you could map the yellow buttons to the right axis, the joystick to the left axis, the red and blue to X and O, so on. Some emulators will already have this configured.
Installing a Driver
1. Use a search engine to find “PS3 Sixaxis Driver” for your operating system. PC and MAC drivers exist and there are many options, but scan through the first few links and you will find a fit.
2. Download and install the selected driver onto your computer. Once complete, connect your PS3 controller to your computer using the USB cable packaged with the controller (the same cable you use to connect to the PS3).
Tips and Warnings
Many emulators require you to pat for an enhanced version to use USB-connected game pads, including a PS3 controller. If you are still having trouble getting your PS3 controller to work, make sure your emulator will run game pads.
